Principal

Daniel McShane

Having served as a police officer, prosecutor and now a defence lawyer, Daniel possesses a unique ability to view prosecution cases from the inside out. During his extensive service with the Queensland Police, he completed the rigorous Prosecutor Training Course, served as a Police Prosecutor, and earned his Bachelor of Laws. Admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of Queensland, Daniel now practises as a dedicated criminal defence, traffic and domestic violence lawyer and is the principal of Rawlings McShane Lawyers.

With experience prosecuting a vast range of cases—from minor traffic offences to complex fraud, drug trafficking, armed robbery, arson, and murder—Daniel’s deep understanding of the criminal justice system from both the police and prosecution side makes him an invaluable asset to your defence.

As a defence advocate, Daniel regularly acts for clients charged with serious criminal, traffic and domestic violence offences and appears routinely in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts. Daniel also acts for both aggrieved and respondent parties in applications for Domestic Violence Orders (DVO). Daniel tirelessly fights for our clients’ rights and freedom, ensuring they get the results they deserve.

Teneka McShane

Teneka holds a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2016. Teneka brings a unique and strategic edge to our firm, having nearly a decade of experience in both criminal defence and also as a prosecutor.

With extensive experience in the Domestic Violence Specialist Court, Teneka understands the sensitive and complex nature of the domestic violence system. Having acted for both aggrieved and respondent parties, Teneka is committed to providing clear, honest advice and robust representation, ensuring that every client’s rights are protected throughout the legal process.

James David
SOLICITOR

James David

James is a Solicitor at Rawlings McShane Lawyers and is admitted to the Supreme Court of Queensland. He holds a Bachelor of Laws from Bond University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law.

James practises exclusively in criminal, traffic, and domestic violence law, appearing regularly in the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts throughout Queensland. He has acted for clients facing a wide range of matters, from drink and drug driving offences through to serious assaults, drug offences, and sexual offences.
